Server solution for XML signing & verification needs!

XML Signer Server is the name given to ADSS Server when supplied with XML signing and/or verification modules. It offers enhanced XML DSig and ETSI XAdES digital signature creation, verification and time-stamping services for business applications needing to trust documents and data. It provides applications with easy-to-use trust services using high level APIs, watched folders or secure email integration options.

Importantly XML Signer Server takes care of the often forgotten overheads of authorisation decisions, detailed policy definitions, key management, HSM management, signing and verification profile management, secure audit logging, reporting and other management tasks. XML Signer Server has been designed to services internal application needs use as well as more complex external multi-party use and also for high-end Managed Service provider use.

Why Use XML Signer Server?

XML Signing Server has been built to satisfy a wide variety of business trust services, which have various data and signature formatting requirements. Whether the application is business to business (B2B), business to consumer (B2C), business to employee (B2E), business to government (B2G), citizen to government (C2G), government to government (G2G), or any other acronym you can think of, XML Signing Server is ideally suited to fulfilling the underlying trust requirements because it:

Supports all signature formats

Our xml signing server supports XML DSig and XAdES formats.

Integrates Easily

Integrating business applications can be done in minutes with sample source code and high-level API calls offered by the ADSS Client SDK, which is available for both .NET and Java applications. Watched folder integration using Ascertia ADSS Auto File Processor (AFP) and email integration using ADSS Secure Email Server (SES) offer immediate use with zero integration effort. Alternatively Ascertia also provides the WSDL for easy independent integration into your business applications.

Provides multiple xml signing options

XML documents can be signed using centrally held corporate signing keys, centrally held unique signing keys for each user or department, or signing keys held locally by end-users on smartcards, secure USB tokens or software files. Roaming credentials can also be used, where the signing key is held inside a secure container on the XML Signer Server and delivered to the user for local signing when required, very similar to a virtual smartcard.

Supports Browser-based signing

XML Signer Server together with our ADSS Go>Sign Applet provides a simple facility for users to view and sign documents (using centrally-held keys, locally-held keys or roamed keys). No longer do you need to have pre-installed signing software on user’s machines and all the headaches that go with managing that, when using the ADSS Go>Sign Applet zero footprint approach.

Provides centralised signature verification service

XML Signer Server provides verification of all signature formats. It can verify advanced long-term signatures using embedded timestamps and revocation information, as well as historic verification using its CRL monitoring and archiving capability. Real-time certificate validation using OCSP is also available. Do not rely on your end-users verifying signatures locally and raising unnecessary support calls, instead take away all the complexity from them by performing server-side verification on their behalf.

Ensures easy installation, configuration and management

Completely GUI based, with its own purpose built installer ensures XML Signer Server can be set-up and be operational in minutes. Automated tasks such as auto-archiving of transaction logs and real-time alerting ensure minimum operator time is required for maintenance or house-keeping. Comes with detailed management reporting for each service which provides dashboard level information that can easily be drilled for extra detailed information.

Meets highest levels of Performance, Scalability and Resilience

These are essential qualities for a centralised e-trust security server. XML Signer Server is packed with features capable of ensuring it meets even the highest demands placed by Managed Service Providers servicing multiple customer organisations.

Provides maximum security

XML Signer Server has been designed with maximum security in mind, from strong identification and authentication of client applications and operators, to fine grain access control to services, to secure detailed logging, to automated system integrity checking, to dual control features, XML Signer Server has it all! Security for your centralised signing and verification operations is a must, with XML Signer Server you do not have to make any compromises.

Ensures low TCO & extensibility

Due to its modular architecture XML Signer Server is charged based on the modules you actually license, e.g. basic XML signing. If later you need to extending to signing of long-term XML Signatures and also add XML verification capability then this can be easily achieved by providing a new XML Signer Server license file. Future proof your investment by not just purchasing a trust service which meets you immediate needs but also one which will serve you well as your business needs change.
