ADSS Gateway Overview
When using external Validation Authority (VA) services to verify digital signatures it is important that commercially sensitive data is not passed to the service provider as part of the verification process. ADSS Gateway has been specifically designed to meet this security requirement and is thus an important Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tool. The product installs on your local network and acts as an intelligent proxy for all verification requests made by business applications.
As each document signature verification request is made, ADSS Gateway analyses the business document and extracts and send just the signature elements to the external VA service. The VA service does not need to receive the complete document to verify its signatures - it can simply use the cryptographic hash value of the document. The ADSS Gateway provides the trust processing that ensures that the hash values match.
Features and Benifits
- Document Notarisation
Enables document signatures to be verified and notarised by a service provider that adds value to the decision, such as taking liability, observing grace periods and notarising the verification result.
- Data Confidentiality Service
Provides data confidentiality service where sensitive commercial documents are not exposed to external parties as part of having their signatures verified.
- Secure Communication
Provides a centrally managed gateway using SSL client/server authentication for the organisation as a whole rather than for multiple end-users or systems. It also provides a single location for all transaction logging no matter which business application requires verification services.
